Leadership

A team of Elders will be leading the church planting effort which will begin by gathering a core group focused on Bible study and prayer for the unchurched in the region.  As the church plant grows, a search will begin to find a man to be the organizing pastor. His arrival will commence the planning for the launch of public worship. His pastoral ministry will include the preaching of the Word and administration of the sacraments.

What to Expect

Because Living Hope Fellowship is a very new and young church planting work, our gatherings will be somewhat informal for the time being. We have two fellowship groups, one that meets in Zelienople and the other in Evans City.

Feel free to dress casually and comfortably. The host will often provide snacks or beverages and other families or individuals may take turns bringing an occasional snack as well. We don’t yet have our own full-time pastor, but studies will be led by pastors and elders from our presbytery, the home group host, or other trusted church leaders.

Meetings will begin with some greetings and general ice-breaking. Expect some laughs and light-hearted conversation. After that, we may take requests and begin with a prayer. We may also sing a hymn or praise chorus as well. After that, one of the Bible study leaders will take us through a portion of Scripture on a verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter journey. Bring your Bible and a note-pad if you like to take notes. After the study, we may chat for a bit, laugh a bit more, and then head home for the evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Living Hope Fellowship have Sunday services yet?

Not yet. We hope to move to Sunday services as soon as our numbers allow. Not only that, but we must pray for a location that is available on Sunday Mornings and a church planter to lead into the future!

2. Are we constructing a brand new building for the Church Plant?

Perhaps in a decade or so! We must not think of “new buildings” when we speak of a church plant being conceived. A common misconception is that a church needs its own building to be a “church.” In the Bible, the word “church” never refers to a building, but to a congregation (or gathering) of Christian believers.

3. Who will do the primary preaching and teaching at the Church Plant?

A team of Elders will be leading the church planting effort which will begin by gathering a core group focused on Bible study and prayer for the unchurched in the region.  When things begin to coalesce, a search will begin to find a man to be the organizing pastor. His arrival will commence the planning for the launch of public worship.  His pastoral ministry will include the preaching of the Word and administration of the sacraments.

4. How can I help with this project?

Please pray about joining the core group to form a nucleus of gospel-oriented believers. Further, we are looking for 250 prayer partners to join us in intercessory prayer for this project on a daily or weekly basis. Of course, you can also give online to Cranberry North Church Plant.
